Talmud Torah
Ohr Moshe

Shaping refined Chassidishe bnai Torah, yirei Hashem, in a warm environment of simcha and love of mitzvos.

Our History

Rigorous learning, refined character

Founded in 2013 as a Torah high school for Chassidishe bochurim, Talmud Torah Ohr Moshe was established to shape refined Chassidishe bnai Torah, yirei Hashem, in a warm environment of simcha and love of mitzvos. It quickly earned a reputation for combining rigorous Torah study with a strong emphasis on character development.

After several years of discussion, the Board, guided by daas Torah and responding to strong demand from parents, established a Yeshiva Gedolah under the leadership of the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Jonothon Strasser, shlita.

Our Name

Named for the Chasam Sofer

The founding board named the Yeshiva after the Chasam Sofer, the great scholar and leader of the Jewish diaspora. In a time of schism and breakaways from tradition, the Chasam Sofer stood firm, famously declaring Chodosh ossur min haTorah: the Jewish people have endured for thousands of years because the Mesorah was transmitted intact and unaltered.

— the Chasam Sofer

While larger, more powerful nations have disappeared, klall Yisroel is held together by Torah without additions or modifications, and changing the mesorah tarnishes its clarity and leads to division and confusion. Our name reflects this vision that our teachings, ethics and morality are fixed, not relative.

Mission

The TTOM Yeshiva Gedolah

The TTOM Yeshiva Gedolah’s mission is to transmit the Torah through immersive learning that combines three things.

1

Deep study of Talmud

Immersive, in-depth learning at the heart of every day.

2

The authoritative mesorah

Joined with Chassidic practice and Mussar Hashkofa.

3

Refined bnai Torah

Shaping talmidim devoted to a life of Torah study.

A distinctive part of our approach is infusing Torah study with chesed, avodah and mitzvos, all carried out with simcha, warmth and grace. Our goal is to shape ehliche yirei shomayim, whether kli kodesh or baale batim, with a derhoibener eidelkeit.

Above all, we aim to instill in each talmid a love for learning and a passion for the toil of acquiring his kinyan in Torah.
